Video: Men’s volleyball national media poll ballot breakdown

Loyola is back on the top of the national media poll.

The Ramblers in the midst of a seven-match winning streak jumped one spot ahead of UCLA and into the No. 1 spot for the second time this season in the new Volleyball Magazine Poll released Tuesday.

UCLA on the heels of extending its winning streak to a nation-best eight matches is now sitting atop the national media poll.

UCLA received the majority of first-place votes to jump one spot and replace Loyola as the new No. 1 in the new Volleyball Magazine Poll released Tuesday.

Video: BYU coach McGown breaks down road win vs. No. 6 USC

For the first time this season, a player besides All-American outside attacker Taylor Sander led BYU in kills but the Cougars were still able to get a critical road conference victory.

Outside attacker Josue Rivera had a season-high 15 kills as No. 3 BYU rallied from a one-game deficit to defeat No. 6 USC 16-25, 25-22, 15-125, 25-20, 15-10 on Saturday in Los Angeles.

Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

Conference play begins tonight for several teams eyeing a conference title and trip to the NCAA Tournament this season.

No. 1 Loyola will attempt to remain atop the national rankings as it plays host to Ohio State in its MIVA opener. In addition, out in the West Coast the MPSF season continues with a marquee match-up between No. 3 BYU and No. 6 USC.

Taylor clutch late to help No. 3 Pepperdine close-out No. 4 BYU

Outside attacker Josh Taylor came through when No. 3 Pepperdine need him the most and helped the team knock-off No. 4 BYU.

Taylor in the decisive fifth game led all players with five kills and added two blocks and an ace as Pepperdine defeated BYU 25-19, 17-25, 25-21, 26-28, 15-11 on Friday in Malibu, Calif.
