    UC Irvine received six first-place votes to finish four points ahead of No. 2 BYU in the newest national media poll released Tuesday.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    With the new national rankings coming out in less than 48 hours, multiple teams are looking to send a statement to the voters in several marquee matches tonight.

    No. 3 Stanford will try to add one more conference victory and make its case for why it should be the new No. 1 after BYU lost Friday, while Ball State will attempt to keep its perfect season alive for one more week and potentially move into the national rankings. In addition, Harvard and Springfield will face each other in the Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic championship match.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Who needs the nation’s top ranked team in action to have compelling matches.

    No. 1 BYU is on a bye this weekend but there are several intriguing matches, including Long Beach State trying to show its critics that it is a top-five team in the nation. In addition, out on the East Coast Penn State looks to extend its historic conference winning streak, while two undefeated teams collide in North Carolina.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s all about the surprise teams and players tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    UC San Diego eyes another massive upset as it travels to play BYU, while the Cougars are playing to lock down the No. 1 ranking. In addition, outside attacker Greg Herceg will try to continue his breakout season as Ball State travels to Sacred Heart.

  • Ball State makes big splash with new recruiting class

    Two members of the U.S. Boys Youth National Team highlights Ball State’s three-person recruiting class.

    Ball State announced Thursday that high school seniors Brendan Surane, Alex Pia and Connor Gross have signed national letters of intent to play for the Cardinals beginning in 2014.

  • Ball State’s Leske wins 2012 Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year

    Ball State middle attacker Matt Leske defeated Stanford All-American libero Erik Shoji in the championship match Thursday to win the 2012 Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year.

    The Fan Choice Player of the Year recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance to decide the winner through online voting on the Off the Block website.

  • Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year: Championship

    Stanford libero Erik Shoji or Ball State middle attacker Matt Leske will end Thursday winning a national award — and it’s up to the fans to determine the winner.

    The Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans the chance decide the winner through online voting in a bracket-style tournament.
