There will be a NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball team in West Virginia starting in 2015.
The University of Charleston announced Wednesday that it will add men’s volleyball as a varsity sport beginning in the 2014-15 school year.

Ohio State plans to use multiple setters throughout regular season
The battle for Ohio State’s starting setter will not be settled when the upcoming season begins.
Ohio State coach Pete Hanson said in an interview with Off the Block on Tuesday that he has not decided on a permanent starting setter and will give both junior Peter Heinen and freshman Christy Blough significant playing time at the start of the regular season.

EIVA moves back start of conference tournament after NCAA changes
Weeks before the start of the regular season the EIVA has moved the start date of its conference tournament to avoid its conference champion having significant time off before the start of the NCAA Tournament.
The conference announced earlier this week that it moved the EIVA Tournament back one week to April 24-26 to better align with start of the reformatted NCAA Tournament.

Renowned European coach Zarkovic joins Hawai’i as assistant to be with son
The former head coach of the Serbian Junior Men’s National Team and the Belarus Men’s National Team will now join the Hawai’i coaching staff to coach his son.
Hawai’i announced Wednesday that it hired Milan Zarkovic as its newest assistant coach for the upcoming season.

BYU, Long Beach, UC Irvine separated by 1 vote atop MPSF poll
Anyone doubting how tight the race for the MPSF championship could be this season just needs to look at the conference’s preseason coaches poll.
The top four teams all came within nine votes of each other as BYU and Long Beach State finished tied for first place in the MPSF preseason poll released Thursday afternoon.

The defending national champions will start the season where it ended last season in the national rankings.
UC Irvine received nine of 18 first-place votes to finish No. 1 in the preseason national coaches poll that the AVCA released Wednesday afternoon.

Host sites unveiled for men’s volleyball NCAA Tournaments in 2015-18
The locations for future men’s volleyball NCAA Tournaments are now set.
The NCAA announced Wednesday afternoon that it awarded NCAA Tournament hosting bids to Stanford in 2015, Penn State in 2016, Ohio State in 2017 and UCLA in 2018.

The defending EIVA champions are once again projected to win another conference title in 2014.
Penn State received all but one first-place vote as it finished atop the EIVA preseason coaches poll that was released Wednesday morning.
