Cal Baptist graduate transfer Kevin Vaz, had seven kills on nine errorless swings to go along with seven blocks and two aces in the Waves’ four game victory over No. 5/5 UCLA on Wednesday night in Malibu. Vaz combined with fellow middle attacker, Max Chamberlain, to have 12 kills on 15 errorless swings, as the Waves hit . 485 for the match. No. 4/4 Pepperdine attacked at an efficient .485 clip on the night and defeated MPSF conference foe, No. 5/5 UCLA, in four games on Wednesday night. The Waves were led by outside attacker Kaleb Denmark who a career-high 18 kills, while teammate opposite Michael Wexter posted a career-high 15 digs. Outside attacker David Wieczorek had a slow start, but had six kills on nine errorless swings in the final game. The Waves are now in a three-way tie atop of the MPSF conference standings with three conference matches left. Check out the highlights as captured by associate editor, Jonathan Bates.

Vanguard University, a member of the Golden State Athletic Conference in NAIA, will be launching a new men’s volleyball program in 2020. Monday, they announced the hire of former Pepperdine men’s volleyball assistant coach, Brad Rostratter. Rostratter is no stranger to NAIA volleyball, as he played in NAIA as a player with Concordia-Irvine.
