Video: Ohio State opposite talks about offseason, early season matches

No. 7/7 Ohio State traveled to Provo, Utah for an early season top-10 non-conference match with defending MPSF champion, No. 5/5 BYU, on Thursday night. The Buckeyes were swept, but not because of the efforts of their sophomore opposite, Jake Hanes (2018 NCAA All-Tournament Team), who had 23 of Ohio State’s 38 kills on the night. The match was very even in terms of team attack percentage (both teams hit .325), blocks (4.0 to 3.5 in favor of OSU), and digs (24 to 23 in favor of BYU). The difference was at the service line where OSU committed 22 service errors versus only 2 aces . Check out our interview conducted by special contributor, Rae Loverde, where Hanes talks about his offseason, their matches last week, preparing for BYU, and his analysis of their performance against the Cougars.
