Video: Pepperdine coach reacts to winning the MPSF Tournament title
No. 1 seed Pepperdine used an efficient attack and a strong block to overwhelm No. 3 seed USC on Saturday night in Malibu, California to claim the 2019 MPSF Tournament title. This is the Waves first 2008 MPSF Tournament title, and with the win, they advance to the NCAA Tournament. Pepperdine will be looking for their first NCAA title since 2005 and their sixth in program history. Highlights: No. 1 seed Pepperdine sweeps No. 3 seed USC to claim 2019 MPSF Tournament title
No. 1 seed Pepperdine defended their home court and swept No. 3 seed USC on Saturday night in Malibu to claim the 2019 MPSF tournament title. The Waves outhit the Trojans, .410 to .233, and out blocked them 8 to 3. Most Valuable Player David Wieczorek had a match-high 18 kills while attacking at an efficient .571 clip. Lewis just too much Loyola in MIVA Tournament finals sweep

ROMEOVILLE — It kind of felt unfair.
Loyola outside hitter Collin Mahan crushed the pipe at Lewis libero Michael Simmons. Julian Moses jabbed at it to keep it alive and seconds later Mahan got a second stab. Ryan Coenen and Simmons both dove on the floor to keep the play going. Lewis got a solid dig, and Matt Yoshimoto dished out a perfect set to Moses who lit it up cross court. (more…)
