A five-peat is the projected preseason pick in the MPSF.
The four-time defending MPSF regular season champions UCLA finished atop the MPSF Preseason Coaches Poll that the conference released on Thursday.
The Bruins ended last season one-match shy of winning its third consecutive national championship as it lost in the NCAA Tournament finals. Three All-Americans returns for UCLA, including Cameron Thorne who won the 2025 Ryan Millar Award as the nation’s top middle attacker.
UCLA earned four first-place votes to edge out Pepperdine and USC by three points for the top spot in the conference poll.
Both the Waves and the Trojans received 72 points with Pepperdine garnering four first-place votes and USC getting two first-place votes.
Stanford and BYU round out of the top half of the preseason poll. Concordia also was the highest ranked Division II team at No. 6 in the poll.
Every MPSF team will play 14 conference matches during the upcoming regular season. The MPSF Tournament will take place in April at BYU with the winner earning an automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament.
