Lewis, Stanford to renew non-conference series in 2026

·

The Flyers are returning to Northern California for the first time since the start of the decade.

Lewis as part of unveiling its 2026 schedule announced it will play a road non-conference match against Stanford on the opening week of the season.

This will be the first time the two perennial nationally ranked programs have played each other since 2023 and the first time Lewis has traveled to Stanford since 2020. The Flyers swept that two-match series in 2020 and have won three of the last four meetings since 2015.

Lewis finished last season in fourth place in the MIVA and advanced to the conference tournament semifinals. Among the starters returning for the Flyers includes All-American opposite Oguzhan Oguz who in 2025 was in the nation’s top 10 with a 4.03 kills per game average.

Stanford in 2025 had four victories against top-five nationally ranked teams and reached the MPSF Tournament semifinals.

All-MPSF outside attacker Theo Snoey highlights the starters slated to return for the Cardinal. Snoey led the MPSF and was eighth in the nation with a 4.13 kills per game average last season.

The match against Cardinal will conclude a two-match Northern California road trip for the Flyers. Lewis a day before this match will play second-year MPSF member Menlo in its season opener.
