A coach with more than two decades of experience at the club and college levels will take over at Queens.
Queens announced earlier this week that it hired Roger Peluso to be the new head coach of its men’s volleyball program.
Peluso most recently served as an assistant coach at George Mason and helped lead the Patriots to the 2024 EIVA Tournament finals. The coach also served as the recruiting coordinator for George Mason.
This will be Peluso’s second head coaching stint in the last three years. Peluso in 2023 guided Webber International to the conference championship and an appearance in the NAIA National Tournament.
Along with his collegiate experience, Peluso has guided club teams to six national championships and was named the AVCA National Boys’ Club Coach of the Year in 2023.
“We are thrilled to welcome such a high-caliber coach to Queens to lead our men’s volleyball program,” Queens athletics director Cherie Swarthout stated. “Roger has a proven track record for developing high-performing athletes, and we are all looking forward to cheering the Royals on as he takes the program to new heights in this new era.”
Queens has reached the MIVA Tournament quarterfinals in each of its first two seasons since joining the conference. The Royals ended last season in eighth place in the MIVA and went 8-5 in non-conference play.
