The only head coach in Queens men’s volleyball program history is moving on.

Queens announced recently that Jeremy Price has opted to step down as the team’s head coach.

Price in nine years at Queens took a new NCAA Division II independent program and helped oversee its transition to a NCAA Division I program and a member of the MIVA. The Royals under Price accumulated 90 wins and had double-digit wins in five seasons.

“Starting this program 8.5 years ago, recruiting the first players, ordering the first uniforms, and laying the foundation for what it has become today has been extremely rewarding,” Price said in a statement. “All those things also make this program one that is very difficult to walk away from.”

Among the top seasons for Royals included the team reaching the IVA Tournament finals in 2021 and 2023. Queens also qualified for the MIVA Tournament in both seasons since joining the conference.

Price arrived at Queens following head coaching stints with Grand Canyon and Juniata.

Price said in a statement he intends to step away from coaching but will continue to remain connected to the program and the local Charlotte community.

“I am really excited for this next phase of my life outside of coaching,” Price said. “It is another opportunity to do something I believe in, and I will be able to make an impact in Charlotte and around the world. I am thrilled to not be moving and still have an opportunity to cheer on the program as a fan.”

Queens also announced it will immediately conduct a search for a new head coach.

The Royals are slated to return a majority of starters for the upcoming season after finishing the MIVA in eighth place and reaching the conference tournament quarterfinals last season.
