Canadian pin-hitter Mason Lange finished with a match-high 10 kills and had seven of those kills in the second game.
Canada in the loss had two aces and committed 24 service errors โ nine more service errors than the United States.
The United States with this victory clinches a quarterfinals berth. The team also can secure a bye to the semifinals and win the Group A championship if it beats Puerto Rico in its group-play finale on Thursday.
Puerto Rico lost to Venezuela in three games on Wednesday and has yet to win a set in group-play.
