A two-time NCAA champion will join the USC roster

USC announced earlier this week that middle attacker Guy Genis will play for the Trojans as a graduate transfer during the 2025 season.

Genis last season was fifth in the MPSF with a 1.01 blocks per game average and hit more than .300 in 15 matches as UCLA won its second consecutive national championship. The middle attacker from Israel also was an All-American honorable mention in 2023 and has a .463 career attack percentage.

“We’re excited to welcome Guy Genis to our Trojan volleyball family,” USC coach Jeff Nygaard said in a statement. “He brings some top-level experience and an international perspective that will benefit our team both on and off the court.”

USC finished last season in sixth place in the MPSF and upset BYU in the MPSF Tournament quarterfinals.

Among the starters slated to return for the upcoming season includes Freshman All-American middle attacker Wesley Smith. Incoming freshman middle attacker Parker Tomkinson also will join the Trojans in 2025 after helping the United States win the gold medal at the U21 NORCECA Continental Championship.
