Off the Block announced on Monday the recipients of the National Position Player of the Week Awards.
The National Position Player of the Week Awards recognize the libero, middle attacker, opposite, outside attacker and setter who had the best performances in NCAA men’s volleyball during the week.
The Off the Block staff determines each award recipient. The winners are announced every week during the regular season on the Off the Block website, offtheblockblog.com.
While there are other weekly national awards in college men’s volleyball, these are the only position-based weekly awards.
Off the Block at the end of the season presents the Lloy Ball Award to the nation’s top setter, Bryan Ivie Award to the nation’s top opposite, the Karch Kiraly Award to the nation’s top outside attacker, the Ryan Millar Award to the nation’s top middle attacker and the Erik Shoji Award to the nation’s top libero.
Off the Block is a national award winning website that launched in 2011 and is the nation’s leader in college men’s volleyball coverage.

National Setter of the Week: Andrew Rowan, UCLA
National Opposite of the Week: Skyler Varga, Long Beach State
Co-National Outside Attacker of the Week: Jacob Pasteur, Ohio State
Co-National Outside Attacker of the Week: Logan Whitaker, Merrimack
National Middle Attacker of the Week: Nicodemus Meyer, Loyola
National Libero of the Week: Leon Alejandro, Belmont Abbey
Andrew Rowan, UCLA
Rowan guided the offense to a .492 attack percentage and added two aces as No. 4/4 UCLA swept its rival No. 11 USC on Thursday. The setter also helped the team hit .382 in a four-game victory against the Trojans on Saturday.
Skyler Varga, Long Beach State
Varga finished with 14 kills on a .444 attack percentage in a four-game victory against No. 9/6 Penn State on Friday. The freshman opposite also led all players with five aces and added a season-high 10 digs against the Nittany Lions.
Jacob Pasteur, Ohio State
Pasteur finished with a season-high seven aces and added 11 kills on a .500 attack percentage in a sweep against No. 14 Lewis on Thursday. The outside attacker also had a match-high six aces and contributed 19 kills in a five-game loss to No. 13 Loyola on Saturday.
Logan Whitaker, Merrimack
Whitaker led all players with a season-high 28 kills on a .346 attack percentage in a four-game victory against Dominican on Friday. The outside attacker also had 23 kills and a season-high six aces in a five-game victory against St. Thomas Aquinas on Saturday. Along with these performances, Whitaker had 16 kills and a season-high eight digs in a five-game win against American International on Tuesday.
Nicodemus Meyer, Loyola
Meyer had a match-high seven blocks and added seven kills and zero errors on a .583 attack percentage in a five-game road victory against No. 7/7 Ohio State. The middle attacker also had six blocks along with four kills on .500 attack percentage in a sweep against Purdue Fort Wayne on Thursday
Leon Alejandro, Belmont Abbey
Alejandro finished with a match-high 13 digs as Belmont Abbey defeated North Greenville on Tuesday to move into sole possession of first place in the ConfCarolinas. The libero also had a match-high 16 digs and committed one reception error in a five-game against Erskine on Friday.
