U.S. unveils preliminary roster for U21 Pan American Cup

The preliminary roster is set as the United States begins preparations for an international tournament.

USA Volleyball announced Wednesday the 21-player training roster for the U.S. Men’s Junior National Team that will compete at the U21 Pan American Cup.

Ohio State leads all schools with three players selected to the training roster. Lewis, Long Beach State, UC San Diego, UCLA, USC each also had multiple players named to the team.

Along with these schools, BYU, Concordia-Irvine, George Mason, Pepperdine and Princeton all are represented on the team.

The 21 players started their training block this week in Anaheim, California, and the U.S. roster will be reduced to 12 players next week.

The U21 Pan American Cup will take place Oct. 3-8 in Cuba. The United States will open the eight-team tournament with pool-play matches against Chile, Mexico and the Dominican Republic.
