Off the Block announces All-Americans of the Month recipients

Off the Block announced Wednesday the 12 college men’s volleyball players selected as All-Americans of the Month for February.

The All-Americans of the Month recognizes the top individual performances throughout a calendar month of the NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball regular season.

The Off the Block staff determines the monthly All-American Team for each January, February and March during the regular season. While there are weekly and end of season national awards, this is the monthly honor in college men’s volleyball.

Off the Block is a national award winning website that launched in 2011 and is the nation’s leader in college men’s volleyball coverage.

All-Americans of the Month player bios

Cole Bogner, Penn State
Bogner led the offense to more than a .300 attack percentage in six matches as Penn State finished the month undefeated. The setter also had at least five digs in three February matches.

Michael de la Cruz, North Greenville
de la Cruz finished with more than five blocks in four February matches, including a season-high eight blocks in a sweep against Mount Olive. The freshman also hit at least .500 in five matches that was highlighted with a season-high 13 kills on a .524 attack percentage in an upset victory against Mount Olive.

Simon Gallas, USC
Gallas had double-digit kills in all seven of USC’s matches and had multiple blocks in five matches during February. The opposite capped off the month with 28 kills on a .578 attack percentage and a match-high four blocks in a victory against Pepperdine on Friday.

Grady Hoffman, Fairleigh Dickinson
Hoffman closed out the month with double-digit digs in five consecutive matches, including a combined 36 digs in a two-match series sweep against Alderson Broaddus during the weekend. The libero also had a team-high eight digs in a three-game loss to Hawai’i.

Quinn Isaacson, Ball State
Isaacson guided Ball State to more than a .300 attack percentage in six February matches, including a .435 attack percentage in a road sweep against Lewis. The setter also had an ace in five consecutive matches highlighted with four aces in a win versus Purdue Fort Wayne.

Christian Janke, Grand Canyon
Janke had double-digit kills in every February and closed out the month with at least 20 kills in three of the last four matches. The outside attacker also set a single-match school record with 31 kills on a .587 attack percentage in a five-game victory against BYU on Saturday.

Kaleb Jenness, Ball State
Jenness had more than 15 kills in seven matches and hit more than .300 in six of those matches. Among the outside attacker’s top performances in February featured a career-high 31 kills on a .636 attack percentage in a five-game victory against Purdue Fort Wayne.

Tyler Mitchem, Lewis
Mitchem had at least 15 kills in five consecutive matches and at least a .500 attack percentage in five straight matches during the month. The middle attacker also had at least five blocks in four February matches.

Alex Nikolov, Long Beach State
Nikolov opened the month with a season-high 24 kills on a .476 attack percentage in a victory against USC. The freshman also had at least three aces in two of the team’s four February matches, including a match-high five aces in a sweep against Stanford.

Jakob Thelle, Hawai’i
Thelle guided the Rainbow Warriors offense to more than a .300 attack percentage in seven matches during the month.The setter also had multiple aces in three February matches, including five aces in a sweep against Queens.

Donovan Todorov, UC Santa Barbara
Todorov had more than five blocks in three matches, including a match-high eight blocks in a five-game victory versus Grand Canyon. The middle attacker also had a season-high 11 kills ona .667 attack percentage in a four-game win against BYU.

Parker Van Buren, Loyola
Van Buren had four consecutive matches with at least 20 kills, including a season-high 27 kills on a .431 attack percentage in a five-game victory against Ohio State. The freshman also had more than a .300 attack percentage in five of seven matches during the month.
