What to know: No. 10/8 Ball State days after twice upsetting the top-ranked team in the nation will now travel to one of the toughest environments in college men’s volleyball. Ball State will attempt to remain undefeated and pull off another win against a top-10 ranked team as it opens a two-match non-conference series against No. 9 BYU. All-MIVA setter Quinn Isaacson leads the nation with a 12.20 assists per game average and has guided the Cardinals to a nation-best .444 attack percentage throughout the first month of the season. Ball State has hit more than .400 in every match so far this season, including a .436 attack percentage in a five-game victory against No. 1/2 Hawai’i on Monday. Issacson also led all players with five aces in the home win to complete the two-match series sweep. Outside attacker Kaleb Jenness had a combined 39 kills on a .400 attack percentage in the series against Hawai’i. In addition, the senior is second in the nation averaging 4.64 kills per game. BYU playing without Preseason All-American Davide Gardini because of an injury survived an upset scare and swept a two-match series versus Mount Olive last week. Freshman outside attacker Miks Ramanis had a combined 45 kills and hit .500 in the two victories against the Trojans. The Cougars are on a 13-match winning streak against the Cardinals dating back to 1992.
