All-American opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez finished with match-high 22 kills on a .439 attack percentage as No. 8/7 BYU rallied from a one-game deficit to beat Princeton 19-25, 25-14, 22-25, 25-21, 15-10 on Thursday in Provo, Utah.
The Cougars in the decisive fifth-game hit a match-best .588. Princeton for the match, though, out-hit BYU .298 to .284, and Fernandez was the only BYU player with more than six kills.
The Tigers had two players with both more than 20 kills and .300 attack percentages against the Cougars. Opposite-middle attacker hybrid George Huhmann contributed a team-high 22 kills, while outside attacker Parker Dixon had 21 kills.
Princeton in the loss committed a season-high 35 service errors — 20 more errors than BYU.
