Audio: Ball State coach reacts to big MIVA win vs. first-place Lewis

The 11-match winning streak and hopes of an undefeated conference season ended at Worthen Arena for No. 7/6 Lewis.

No. 15 Ball State had four players finish with double-digit kills as it rallied to upset Lewis ‪25-21, 27-29, 16-25, 25-12, 15-10‬ on Saturday in Muncie, Indiana.

Middle attacker Parker Swartz had 10 kills and zero errors on a .667 attack percentage along with contributing a team-high six blocks. In addition, outside attacker attacker Matt Szews led Ball State with 21 kills and three aces.

Ball State out-hit Lewis .272 to .226, including having zero errors and a .381 attack percentage in the decisive fifth game.

Lewis outside attacker Ryan Coenen ended with a match-high 23 kills against Ball State. Despite the loss, Lewis remains in sole possession of first place in the MIVA.
