The rise for the Gauchos continues in the national rankings.

UC Santa Barbara following back-to-back victories against then-No. 3 BYU jumped three spots to No. 6 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released on Tuesday.

The Gauchos are on a six-match winning streak that has featured for wins versus top-10 ranked teams. In addition, the team during the streak went from receiving votes and being ranked outside of the top 10 to now earning one of the program’s highest rankings since the National Media Poll started in 2016.

BYU with these two losses dropped five spots to No. 8 in the rankings.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
