Video: Stanford repeats upset of No. 4 BYU

The only thing bigger for Stanford than upsetting No. 4 BYU once was accomplishing the feat twice on back-to-back nights.

Outside attacker Gabriel Vega had a match-high 21 kills as Stanford defeated BYU 25-21, 24-26, 26-24, 25-18 on Saturday in Palo Alto, California, to complete the two-match series sweep of the Cougars.

Stanford in All-American setter James Shaw’s second match back in the starting lineup out-hit BYU .236 to .181. In addition, outside attacker Madison Hayden added 17 kills and a team-high three aces in the victory.

With these two weekend upsets, Stanford moves one match out of eighth place and the final postseason berth for the upcoming MPSF Tournament in April.
