We have another tie in the Division II coaches poll as Concordia-Irvine and Lewis both received 83 points in the poll released on Wednesday morning.

Concordia-Irvine received five of the eight first place votes, while Lewis received three and McKendree received one.

The Eagles split their season series last weekend with Grand Canyon at home, taking the first match in a sweep. Owen Chun was named Off the Block Opposite of the Week and MPSF Offensive Player of the Week after registering 52 kills in seven games.

Lewis also split their matches this past weekend, sweeping Purdue Fort Wayne on the road but getting swept by Loyola at home.

The Off the Block Division II match of the week will be on Friday in a battle of the top two teams in the SIAC standings. Second place Edward Waters will host first place Central State. The two teams faced on March 12 in Wilberforce, Ohio, with the Marauders prevailing in four games. A win for the Tigers would put them in a tie for first place.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
