Every block from the recent NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball postseason can help the career development of a minority volleyball coach.

Off the Block announced Monday it is continuing to accept pledges and participation in the inaugural Block Racism Campaign.

The Block Racism Campaign encourages fans to pledge a donation to the AVCA Diversity Awards program for every block their favorite NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball team records during the recent postseason.

The AVCA Diversity Awards was created to both assist minority coaches entering the coaching profession and to help the chances of career advancement. Recipients of the award in previous years have their registration and lodging costs paid for so they can attend the annual AVCA Convention.

Participants in the Block Racism Campaign can pledge amounts ranging from 25 cents per block to $2 per block.

Pledge forms can be filled out through the Off the Block website by clicking here.

No money or payment is required when a pledge is submitted. Participants will be contacted in early July with their final pledge total and additional information on how to fulfill their pledged amount.

The college men’s volleyball postseason featured the Big West Tournament, ConfCarolinas Tournament, EIVA Tournament, IVA Tournament, MIVA Tournament, MPSF Tournament and the NCAA Tournament.

Off the Block is a national award winning website and the nation’s leader in college men’s volleyball coverage. In addition, the media organization will coordinate Block Racism Campaign

While 100 percent of pledges will go to the AVCA Diversity Awards program, this philanthropic campaign is not officially affiliated with the AVCA.
