What to know: It’s the MIVAgeddon II with the stakes even bigger for both teams than their first meeting a month ago. No. 4 Lewis will play host to No. 2 Loyola with both teams tied for first place in the MIVA standings. In addition, both teams are projected to make the NCAA Tournament in the latest Off the Block college men’s volleyball bracketology. However, whatever team loses this conference match would have little margin for error the rest of the regular season to remain in the lead for a possible at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Lewis beat its in-state rival in their first meeting on March 9 to snap Loyola’s nation-best 39-match winning streak dating back to last season. Opposite Eric Fitterer in the victory had a career-high six aces, including back-to-back aces to secure the victory in a fourth-game overtime. Outside attacker Greg Petty also finished with a match-high 21 kills against the Ramblers and is fifth in the conference averaging 3.47 kills per game. Loyola All-American outside attacker Thomas Jaeschke enters this match with a conference-best 4.03 kills per game average. He also has at least a .450 attack percentage in seven of his last 10 matches.
