    A nationwide voting committee selected USC setter Micah Christenson, UCLA outside attacker Gonzalo Quiroga and Loyola outside attacker Joseph Smalzer as finalists for the 2013 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Server of the Year.

    The Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Server of the Year recognizes the top individual serving performance from a NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball player during the regular season.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s the final week of most conference’s regular seasons and it’s all about the West Coast tonight.

    No. 7 Cal Baptist and No. 9 Stanford highlights tonight’s matches as the Lancers continue to play the role of postseason spoiler. In addition, Hawai’i will try to stay alive for its first postseason bid since 2011 as it travels to UC San Diego.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    BYU won the MPSF regular season title, but that’s about the only thing that’s been decided for conference tournament seeding with the regular season coming to an end.

    Several teams will play in critical matches to determine the conference brackets highlighted by No. 4 Long Beach State traveling to play No. 5 Pepperdine. In addition, No. 1 BYU will return play No. 3 UCLA on the one-year anniversary of the servegate controversy.

  • Top 10 non-conference matches to hope get scheduled for 2014

    With the calendars turned to April, it not only means the conference tournaments ready to begin but college men’s volleyball coaches beginning to create their schedules for next season.

    There are multiple factors that go into a coach creating their schedule and at times several factors that are out of a coach’s control. However, there are just some non-conference matches that volleyball fans are craving to get scheduled.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Seeding for the conference tournaments is starting to come into focus and could be a whole lot clearer after tonight.

    Five of the top six nationally ranked teams are in action tonight, including No. 2 UC Irvine playing host to No. 4 UCLA. In addition, Penn State will play George Mason with a chance to win the out-right EIVA regular season championship once again.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    About one month away from the start of the conference tournaments and several teams postseason fates could be on the line this weekend.

    Cal Baptist will try to hold down eighth place and the final spot in the MPSF Tournament as it travels to No. 1 BYU. In addition, Hawai’i and USC will meet in a two-match series that is a virtual must-win for both schools.

    Four of the top 10 nationally ranked teams have already lost this week and there is a chance even more could go down tonight.

    No. 3 Long Beach State versus No. 4 Stanford in a battle of top-five nationally ranked teams highlights tonight’s matches. In addition, Loyola and Lewis renew their rivalry in a conference match so big that both teams have produced Harlem Shake videos to promote the match.
