    For the first time in almost a month, there is not a unanimous No. 1 in the national rankings.

    BYU following in its loss to No. 3 UCLA on Saturday remained in atop the new men’s volleyball national media poll released Tuesday but it lost a first-place vote to Long Beach State.

  • Deeper look at men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament selection criteria

    It’s the final week of the regular season and the race for the lone at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament along with seeding for the tournament remains as tight as ever.

    It was another weekend of upsets as two top-five nationally ranked teams lost and several college men’s volleyball teams improved their seeds for the upcoming conference tournaments.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    BYU won the MPSF regular season title, but that’s about the only thing that’s been decided for conference tournament seeding with the regular season coming to an end.

    Several teams will play in critical matches to determine the conference brackets highlighted by No. 4 Long Beach State traveling to play No. 5 Pepperdine. In addition, No. 1 BYU will return play No. 3 UCLA on the one-year anniversary of the servegate controversy.

  • Top 10 non-conference matches to hope get scheduled for 2014

    With the calendars turned to April, it not only means the conference tournaments ready to begin but college men’s volleyball coaches beginning to create their schedules for next season.

    There are multiple factors that go into a coach creating their schedule and at times several factors that are out of a coach’s control. However, there are just some non-conference matches that volleyball fans are craving to get scheduled.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Seeding for the conference tournaments is starting to come into focus and could be a whole lot clearer after tonight.

    Five of the top six nationally ranked teams are in action tonight, including No. 2 UC Irvine playing host to No. 4 UCLA. In addition, Penn State will play George Mason with a chance to win the out-right EIVA regular season championship once again.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The conference tournaments are inching closer to starting and tonight’s matches could have big implications on the seeding for those tournaments.

    No. 6 Stanford looks to remain in contention for a chance to host a MPSF Tournament match and avoid an upset as it plays host to No. 9 Cal State Northridge. In addition, Penn State has chance to win the EIVA regular season championship this season if it can get past second-place Princeton tonight.

    A season-high nine MPSF teams were ranked in the top 10 of the new national media poll that was released Tuesday.

  • Q&A with UCLA coach and new U.S. Olympic coach John Speraw

    UCLA men’s volleyball coach John Speraw addressed the media on Tuesday for the first time since being named the U.S. Men’s National Team coach for the 2016 Olympics.

    Check out the news conference as Speraw discusses his plans for the national team, why he took the position and his decision to coach the United States while also keeping his job at UCLA.
