  • No. 6 UCLA beats Hawai’i to win fourth straight Outrigger Invitational title

    The big block from UCLA was able to stifle Hawai’i’s explosive offense and give the Bruins another Outrigger Invitational championship.

    Middle attacker Trent Kersten was one two Bruins with at least five blocks as No. 6 UCLA defeated Hawai’i 25-19, 14-25, 25-19, 25-16 in the defacto tournament championship match on Saturday in Honolulu

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s a huge slate of marquee non-conference matches tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    A defacto championship match at the Outrigger Invitational between UCLA and Hawai’i highlights the non-conference matches. However, not to be a overlooked by the non-conference matches is a rematch of the 2013 MPSF championship as No. 1 Long Beach State and BYU met in conference play.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Some of the biggest non-conference matches during the entire college men’s season will be played tonight.

    No. 9 Lewis less than one week after upsetting BYU will now try to beat another MPSF school as it travels out to the a West Coast to play No. 5 Stanford. In addition, the Outrigger Invitational continues with No. 10 Penn State playing Hawai’i in the late-night match.

  • Five storylines to follow during the 2014 Outrigger Invitational

    There are some big storylines that will played-out during one of college men’s volleyball’s biggest annual non-conference tournaments.

    Everything from UCLA trying to accomplish a feat never achieved to all four teams attempting to pick-up signature non-conference victories highlight the storylines as the 20th annual Outrigger Invitational begins Thursday in Honolulu.

  • Video: Men’s volleyball national media poll ballot breakdown

    Long Beach State days after winning the UC Santa Barbara Invitational is now sitting atop the national media poll.

    The 49ers received all but one first-place vote to be ranked No. 1 in the season’s first Volleyball Magazine Poll that was released Tuesday afternoon.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    After an eight-month wait, the first weekend to the college men’s volleyball season is finally here.

    The first weekend of the regular season begins with a marquee match-up as No. 3 BYU travels to take on No. 7 Loyola. In addition, out in the West Coast the UC Santa Barbara Invitational starts with exhibition pool-play matches.

  • Season Preview: Contenders for the 2014 National Player of Year award

    Good luck trying to predict who will win the biggest individual award in college men’s volleyball for the upcoming season.

    The two National Player of the Year winners from last year, BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander and Long Beach State outside attacker Taylor Crabb, return for their senior seasons. However, the field remains wide open in the race for 2014 National Player of the Year.

    It’s that time of year when every team is hopeful, but there are those select teams have good reason to be even more optimistic about their chances of ending the year as NCAA champions.

  • Teams release ticket options for 2014 college men’s volleyball season

    The start to the college men’s volleyball season is still a few weeks away, but teams are already beginning the process of trying to fill their stands for the upcoming season.

    While a majority of college men’s volleyball teams do not charge admission for regular season matches, several teams that do charge admission have released their season-ticket and single-match ticket options.
