Two of the top high school players from Illinois and Missouri will remain in the Midwest for their college careers.

MIVA adds five new inductees to conference’s hall of fame

Five former all-conference players who led their teams to championships will receive an honor only reserved for the best players and contributors in MIVA history.

The oldest college volleyball conference announced Monday that Purdue Fort Wayne’s Jay Golsteyn, George Williams’ Ken Mattison and Marv Zimmerman, Lewis’ Victor Rivera and Ball State’s Keith Thornburgh were all selected to be inducted into the MIVA Hall of the Fame. BYU, Purdue Fort Wayne players to compete with Puerto Rico at Pan Am Games

Two of the top pin-hitters in college men’s volleyball will join Puerto Rico in its attempt to win a medal at the Pan American Games.

BYU opposite Gabi Garcia Fernandez and Purdue Fort Wayne outside attacker Pelegrin Vargas were selected to the Puerto Rican roster for the men’s volleyball tournament that will begin on Tuesday at the international event in Peru.
