  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s all about the rematch and the repeat tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    Lewis will attempt to pull off another upset against No. 2 BYU after the Flyers shocked the Cougars in their series opener Friday. In addition, UCLA plays Hawai’i in Outrigger Invitation with a chance to three-peat as tournament champions.

  • Players to watch for the 2013 AVCA Player of Year award

    BYU outside attacker Taylor Sander and UC Irvine outside attacker Kevin Tillie are the preseason favorites to win the biggest individual award in college men’s volleyball, but the field is still wide open.

    With the NCAA men’s volleyball season beginning this week, there are several candidates who could be the 2013 AVCA Player of the Year this season.

    Check out the preseason favorites and the dark horse candidates who could win the Division I-II AVCA Player of the Year at the end of the regular season.

  • 2013 Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams released

    A nationwide voting committee selected 20 players to the Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams.

    The Off the Block Preseason All-American Teams recognizes the NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players projected to be the best in the nation during the upcoming season. Ten players were selected as Preseason First-Team All-Americans and 10 players were named Preseason Second-Team All-Americans.

  • USA Volleyball reveals final roster for World Championships qualifier

    Twelve college men’s volleyball players have been selected to represent the United States at an international tournament.

    USA Volleyball announced Thursday its final roster for the 2012 NORCECA Men’s Junior (U-21) Continental Championship that will begin this weekend in Colorado Springs, Colo.

  • Vacated victories drop Pepperdine’s Dunphy below 500-win milestone

    Anyone who missed Pepperdine coach Marv Dunphy win his 500th career match will get a chance to see him try to accomplish the feat again.

    Dunphy moved back below the 500-win milestone earlier this week after the NCAA vacated Pepperdine’s 66 victories from 2008-11 because of NCAA rule violations — dropping the Hall of Fame coach from 532 to 466 career wins.

  • Pepperdine to vacate 2008 MPSF title, 66 wins because of NCAA violations

    Pepperdine will have to vacate its most recent MPSF championship and have scholarship reductions during the next three years because of NCAA violations.

    The NCAA Division I Committee on Infractions announced Tuesday that Pepperdine was sanctioned for failing to monitor its athletics department and improperly distributing financial aid to student-athletes.

  • Men’s volleyball 2012 All-Snubbed Team from All-American honors

    All of the All-American teams are out and as is the case every year there are players who can make the argument they got snubbed.

    The AVCA and Volleyball Magazine each recently released their 2012 NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball All-American teams. All the athletes selected to these teams are well deserving, but with any All-American list there is a group of players who just missed out.

    Check out the top 10 non-All-American players who had a case to earn the national honor this year.

    Off the Block selected and seeded the 65 players in a bracket, but only 16 players remain and now it is up to the fans to determine who should win the Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year.

    The Fan Choice Player of the Year recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance decide the winner through online voting.
