  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Multiple conference titles can be clinched tonight.

    No. 2 BYU will go for its second consecutive MPSF regular season title as it plays host to conference rival No. 9 UCLA. In addition out in the Midwest, No. 1 Loyola will look to remain undefeated in the MIVA and win its first conference regular season title in about 10 years as it takes on IPFW.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Nothing says Valentine’s Day night like marquee college men’s volleyball matches involving top-10 nationally ranked teams.

    A showdown between one of the nation’s top defensive teams and the defending National Player of the Year highlights the schedule as No. 8 UC Santa Barbara plays host to No. 5 Long Beach State. In addition, out in the Midwest two of this season’s surprise teams, Lindenwood and IPFW, will meet for a conference match.

  • Top 5 college men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s a smaller than usual slate of matches for a Saturday night, but there is still plenty of intrigue with several matches.

    No. 3 Pepperdine days after knocking off No. 1 UCLA will now take on No. 8 UC Santa Barbara, which is coming off an emotional five-game loss to No. 6 USC. In addition, Ball State and Princeton will play each other in a critical non-conference match for both teams.

    Several teams outside the top 10 of the national rankings have a chance to get a statement victory tonight.

    Hawai’i and Cal State Northridge highlight the slate of matches tonight as both teams try to move up in the MPSF standings. In addition, Princeton will attempt to bounce back from a winless West Coast road trip with a non-conference match against IPFW.

    No. 10 UC Irvine and No. 5 UC Santa Barbara highlights tonight’s matches with both teams looking to get a rebound victory. In addition, Grand Canyon will try to continue its best start to a season in program history as it plays host to George Mason in a non-conference match.

  • Season Preview: 5 teams that may surprise everyone in 2014

    There are teams that have high preseason expectations and than there are those teams that enter a season will little fanfare but become the biggest surprises of the year.

    Whether it’s Long Beach State last year overcoming little preseason hype to almost reach the NCAA Tournament or UC Santa Barbara’s postseason run to the 2011 NCAA finals, each season tends to feature teams that surprise everyone.

  • Lindenwood adds non-conference matches vs. EIVA to 2014 schedule

    For the first time in its program history, Lindenwood will play a match against an EIVA school

    Lindenwood announced Friday its 2014 regular season schedule that begins with the team on a two-match East Coast road trip against Sacred Heart and NJIT.

  • Lindenwood hires Clarke coach Dorn to be new head coach

    The head coach at a NAIA men’s volleyball powerhouse will be taking over at Lindenwood.

    The Lindenwood athletics department announced Wednesday that it hired former Clarke coach Kris Dorn to be the school’s new head coach for the upcoming season.
