    Three NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball teams received a national honor for their performance in the classroom during the 2011-12 school year.

    The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced Friday that George Mason, Harvard and Stanford earned the annual Team Academic Award.

  • Men’s volleyball 2012 All-Snubbed Team from All-American honors

    All of the All-American teams are out and as is the case every year there are players who can make the argument they got snubbed.

    The AVCA and Volleyball Magazine each recently released their 2012 NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball All-American teams. All the athletes selected to these teams are well deserving, but with any All-American list there is a group of players who just missed out.

  • Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year: First Round

    Off the Blocked selected and seeded the 65 players in a bracket, and now it is up to the fans to determine who should win the Off the Block Fan Choice Player of the Year.

    The Fan Choice Player of the Year recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the season and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance decide the winner through online voting.

  • Penn State beats George Mason to punch ticket to NCAA Tournament

    The East Coast dynasty survived a scare but lives on at Penn State.

    Penn State clinched a spot in the NCAA Tournament and won its record 14th consecutive EIVA Tournament title as it defeated George Mason 25-16, 25-21, 20-25, 25-22 in the EIVA championship match Saturday in University Park, Pa.

  • Conference tournament men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The spotlight will be on the each coast tonight in college men’s volleyball as the conference tournaments resume.

    Four teams still vying for an at-large spot or automatic berth to the NCAA Tournament will meet in the MPSF Tournament semfinals in Los Angeles. In addition, Penn State out on the East Coast looks avoid the upset and move one step closer to its 14th straight EIVA championship.

    The madness of April is upon us.

    Five conference tournament matches will be played tonight as well as a defacto play-in match for the four-team EIVA Tournament starting next week. The four MPSF Tournament quarterfinal matches highlight postseason play today as five West Coast teams enter still with a chance to get the at-large bid the NCAA Tournament.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It doesn’t get much bigger than this in regular season play.

    Two matches between top-five nationally ranked teams highlight this weekend. No. 1 UC Irvine and No. 3 UCLA meet with first place in the MPSF on the line, while No. 2 USC and No. 5 Stanford play each other with both teams trying to bolster their resume for the NCAA Tournament selection committee.
