    The Ball State Daily News reporter Evan Barnum-Steggerda, The Universe reporter Trent Christiansen and The Daily Collegian reporter Darian Somers were selected as the 2013 Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Conference Reporters of the Year.

    The Off the Block Men’s Volleyball Conference Reporters of the Year recognizes the best college newspaper reporters covering teams in the EIVA, MIVA and MPSF — the three Division I-II conferences that receive automatic berths to men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament.

  • Deeper look at men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament selection criteria

    The regular season is over for the majority of college men’s volleyball teams but nothing is settled yet with the at-large bid and seeding for the upcoming four-team NCAA Tournament.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    The end of the regular season is here and the finale has the potential for plenty of drama.

    No. 2 UC Irvine and Penn State will met in a possible preview to the Final Four, while Cal State Northridge and Hawai’i continue their push to clinch the final berth in the MPSF Tournament. In addition, Pfeiffer will attempt to repeat as conference champions as it plays Limestone in the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship match.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    It’s the final week of most conference’s regular seasons and it’s all about the West Coast tonight.

    No. 7 Cal Baptist and No. 9 Stanford highlights tonight’s matches as the Lancers continue to play the role of postseason spoiler. In addition, Hawai’i will try to stay alive for its first postseason bid since 2011 as it travels to UC San Diego.

  • My men’s volleyball media poll ballot

    For the first time in almost a month, there is not a unanimous No. 1 in the national rankings.

    BYU following in its loss to No. 3 UCLA on Saturday remained in atop the new men’s volleyball national media poll released Tuesday but it lost a first-place vote to Long Beach State.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    BYU won the MPSF regular season title, but that’s about the only thing that’s been decided for conference tournament seeding with the regular season coming to an end.

    Several teams will play in critical matches to determine the conference brackets highlighted by No. 4 Long Beach State traveling to play No. 5 Pepperdine. In addition, No. 1 BYU will return play No. 3 UCLA on the one-year anniversary of the servegate controversy.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    There aren’t as many Friday night matches as usual, but two conference championships can be decided tonight in college men’s volleyball.

    No. 1 BYU eyes getting its first MPSF regular season title in nine years if it can defeat No. 7 UC Santa Barbara. In addition, Penn State plays a non-conference match but can clinch its 15th consecutive EIVA regular season title depending on the outcome of the Princeton-Harvard match tonight.

  • Top 10 non-conference matches to hope get scheduled for 2014

    With the calendars turned to April, it not only means the conference tournaments ready to begin but college men’s volleyball coaches beginning to create their schedules for next season.

    There are multiple factors that go into a coach creating their schedule and at times several factors that are out of a coach’s control. However, there are just some non-conference matches that volleyball fans are craving to get scheduled.
