BYU, UCLA, Stanford top preseason social media rankings
BYU will once again enter the college men’s volleyball season leading the social media rankings and by a sizable margin.
A recent Off the Block analysis of NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball team Twitter accounts showed that BYU has more than double the amount of followers compared to any other team in the nation. (more…)

Ball State lands three recruits during early-signing period
A setter with multiple high school all-state honors will be among the newest recruits to join Ball State.
Ball State announced recently that high school seniors Jake Romano, Lemuel Turner and Parker Swartz all signed national letters of intent to play for the Cardinals beginning in 2016. (more…)

Four teams selected for inaugural Off the Block East vs. Midwest Challenge
A new annual non-conference tournament is coming to college men’s volleyball that will have teams from the two oldest conferences playing each other.
Off the Block announced Tuesday that Ball State, IPFW, Penn State and St. Francis will be part of the inaugural Off the Block East vs. Midwest Challenge during the 2015 season.

Q&A with Ball State coach Walton on recruiting, growing his program
It’s not as big of a challenge any more for coach Joel Walton to recruit players to Ball State.
Walton said interview with Off the Block earlier this week that the university building a new training facility for the team and awarding additional men’s volleyball scholarships has significantly improved Ball State’s latest recruiting classes.

Ball State coach excited to have new sports facility named after Shondell
The name on the new practice facility at Ball State is just as significant as the sports venue itself for the coaches and players.
Ball State coach Joel Walton said in an interview with Off the Block earlier this week that he is excited about the school opting to name the new facility in honor of the program’s inaugural coach and Volleyball Hall of Famer Don Shondell.
