    Four of the top 10 nationally ranked teams have already lost this week and there is a chance even more could go down tonight.

    No. 3 Long Beach State versus No. 4 Stanford in a battle of top-five nationally ranked teams highlights tonight’s matches. In addition, Loyola and Lewis renew their rivalry in a conference match so big that both teams have produced Harlem Shake videos to promote the match.

  • Penn State’s 5-year EIVA winning streak done with loss to Harvard

    The longest conference winning streak in NCAA men’s volleyball history is over.

    No. 6 Penn State had its 61-match EIVA winning streak snapped as it lost to Harvard 25-23, 25-17, 25-23 on Friday in Cambridge, Mass.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    With the new national rankings coming out in less than 48 hours, multiple teams are looking to send a statement to the voters in several marquee matches tonight.

    No. 3 Stanford will try to add one more conference victory and make its case for why it should be the new No. 1 after BYU lost Friday, while Ball State will attempt to keep its perfect season alive for one more week and potentially move into the national rankings. In addition, Harvard and Springfield will face each other in the Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic championship match.

  • Top 5 men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

    Out on the East Coast four teams will vie to win the Volleyball Hall of Fame Morgan Classic title, while on the islands Hawai’i will attempt to pull off its third consecutive upset against a top-five nationally ranked team.

  • NCAA men’s volleyball national statistical leaders through January

    One month of the college men’s volleyball season is all but finished, and Off the Block is providing the first look at the national leaders for several statistical categories.

    The NCAA will not release the season’s first official Division I-II national statistical leaders report until later in February. However, a study conducted by Off the Block of stats collected by conferences and athletics departments provides an early sneak-peak of the national leaders at the end of January.
