No. 11/10 Lindenwood rallies from two-game deficit to beat No. 12 McKendree

Opposite Luke Kraft took over in the biggest moments.

Kraft had two kills and an ace as part of a 4-1 run to close out the match as No. 11/10 Lindenwood rallied to beat No. 12 McKendree 15-25, 23-25, 25-23, 25-22, 15-13 on Thursday in St. Charles, Missouri.

Lindenwood trailed the final game 12-11 before Kraft had a kill and an ace to give the Lions the lead and jumpstart the match-ending run. In addition, Kraft had the match-winning kill to help Lindenwood complete the comeback and move into a tie for first place in the MIVA.

Kraft led all players with a season-high 21 kills on a .471 attack percentage. The opposite also had a game-high four kills in the decisive game and did not commit an attack error in the final two games of the comeback win.

Along with the offensive performance, Kraft had two aces in the fifth game and finished with a season-high four aces.

Setter Zach Solomon guided the offense to out-hit McKendree .351 to .312, including the team having one error and a .429 attack percentage in the final game.

Four Lions hit more than .400 en route to remaining undefeated at home.

Middle attacker Ty Baugarth contributed seven kills and zero errors on a team-best .636 attack percentage. Freshman outside attacker Aidan Akkawi coming off the bench had six kills and hit .417, while middle attacker Owen Walsh had six kills on a .500 attack percentage.

Outside attacker Sam Hoskin in the loss led McKendree with 16 kills.

This was the second consecutive fifth-game conference loss for the Bearcats. McKendree after beating No. 14 Lewis in its conference opener has now lost its last four MIVA matches.
