Ball State is a top-five team for the first time in the history of the national media poll.
The Cardinals jumped five spots to No. 4 in the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released on Tuesday.
The climb in the poll comes after Ball State swept Lewis in its conference opener last week for its fourth win against a top-10 ranked teamed team this season.
This is Ball State’s highest all-time ranking in a current national poll. The Cardinals previous highest ranking was No. 5 during the 1995 season.
The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.
A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.
