The preseason pick to win ConfCarolinas has steadily made its way up the Division II coaches poll. It started the season at No. 9 in the first poll of 2021, and is all the way up to No. 4 in the latest poll released on Tuesday morning.

The Trojans won their first five matches of the season before losing last Saturday at North Greenville in four games. Mount Olive is atop of the ConfCarolinas standings at 4-1, and leads the conference in assists per game (12.27), kills per game (13.14), attack percentage (.302), digs per game (11.27), and opponent attack percentage (.214). In fact their 13.14 digs per game leads the nation.

Individually, the Trojans are led by Jarrod Ferguson who leads the conference with 1.095 blocks per game, Iyanu Adebisi who leads the conference with 2.50 digs per game, and Luke Visgitis who leads the conference with a .582 attack percentage.

The same ten teams ranked last week remain ranked in this poll, but the biggest mover in this week’s poll was No. 7 Charleston who jumped two spots.

No. 1 Lewis remains atop of the poll and received all but one of the first place votes. Lewis plays No. 2 McKendree on Friday night in Romeoville, Illinois.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 15 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Tuesday during the regular season.
