College men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

What to know: Both teams are 2-0 on the young season. The Eaters are continuing the four match season-opening road trip tonight after previously defeating MIVA foes, Loyola and Lewis. Earlier today, UC Irvine OH Joel Schneidmiller was named Off the Block Outside Attacker of the Week, while fellow Setter Dante Chakravorti was named Setter of the Week. Schneidmiller had a combined 41 kills, 12 digs, 6 blocks, and 4 aces in a pair of wins over top-10 teams. Chakravorti had a combined 89 assists in the two matches. The Eaters moved up on spot to No. 3 in the latest national coaches poll released today, while Ball State makes their first appearance this season at No. 14. The Cardinals continue their season-opening homestand tonight, after defeating EIVA foes, Princeton and NJIT. Ball State had to rally in the fifth game versus NJIT, as the Highlanders were one game away from a reverse sweep. Junior outside attacker Matt Szews leads Ball State in kills (23), digs (16), and aces (5).
