The entire season still has to be played, but the MIVA Preseason Poll has been an accurate predictor in recent years of what team will win the conference regular season title.
In four of the last five seasons the team picked to finish in first place in the conference’s preseason coaches poll has end the regular season with at least a share of the MIVA title.
Despite this recent success, the MIVA poll from its inception in 2006 to the 2009 season never accurately predicted the regular season champion.
Loyola was picked to win the conference in the 2015 MIVA preseason coaches poll that was released earlier this week. This was the third time in the last 10 years that the Ramblers finished atop the poll and have won the conference regular season title once in those two previous years.
