OTB, Springbak unveil 2018 Freshmen All-American Team


A nationwide voting committee selected 10 players to the annual Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Freshmen All-American Team.

The Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. Freshmen All-American Team honors the top NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball freshmen players from the regular season. This is the fifth year Off the Block and Springbak, Inc. have presented the national honor, and it remains the only Freshmen All-American Team presented in college men’s volleyball. Video: BYU serve too much for Pepperdine, wins MPSF regular season title

No. 2/2 BYU didn’t leave any doubt who was the best team in the MPSF during the regular season.

BYU hit .400 and finished with a season-high 11 aces it swept No. 4/5 Pepperdine 25-20, 25-17, 25-14 on Thursday in Malibu, California, to clinch the MPSF regular season title and home court advantage throughout the conference tournament. Postseason volleyball is coming back to Firestone Fieldhouse for the first time in three years.

All-conference outside attacker David Wieczorek had a match-high 15 kills as No. 5/6 Pepperdine swept USC 25-20, 26-24, 25-23 on Thursday in Los Angeles to clinch home court advantage for the opening round of the MPSF Tournament.
