The Barton pair of Angelos Mandilaris and Vasilis Mandilaris advanced to the Round of 16, while Mount Olive opposite Robert Poole reached the first round at the CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championship during the weekend in the Czech Republic.

Four all-conference college men’s volleyball players will compete for a European championship in beach volleyball.
CSUN outside attacker Dimitar Kalchev, Mount Olive opposite Robert Poole and both Barton outside attacker Vasilis Mandilaris and opposite Angelos Mandilaris were all selected to participate at the CEV U22 Beach Volleyball European Championship that starts next week.

Barton hit more than .400 for the first time in a month as it swept Mount Olive 25-18, 25-15, 25-17 in the Conference Carolina Tournament finals on Saturday in Wilson, North Carolina.

For all the buzz entering the rivalry match about Barton having the conference’s top-ranked offense, it was the defense that helped secure the program’s first regular season championship.
Barton held Mount Olive to less than a .050 attack percentage in a 25-16, 25-22, 25-13 victory on Tuesday in Wilson, North Carolina, to clinch a share of the Conference Carolinas regular season title.

Outside attacker Arvis Greene led all players with a career-high 15 kills and a .778 attack percentage as No. 14 CSUN swept Mount Olive 25-12, 25-19, 25-19 on Saturday at the UCSB Asics/South Coast Inn-vitational.
The Matadors in their fifth straight non-conference victory to open the season committed a combined eight attack errors and out-hit the Trojans .517 to .159.
