The conference tournament semifinals have created mayhem to NCAA Tournament bracketology as three teams could still potentially land the at-large bid heading into Conference Championship Saturday.

The men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament is comprised of four teams. Automatic bids are awarded to the winners of the EIVA, MIVA and MPSF conference tournaments, and the NCAA Men’s Volleyball National Committee chooses one team for an at-large bid.

Conference tournament men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

Four more tickets will be punched to Conference Championship Saturday by the end of the night.

The top-four nationally ranked teams will be on display in Provo, Utah, with both MPSF Tournament semifinal matches, including No. 2 UC Irvine playing No. 3 Long Beach State in match potentially critical to the NCAA Tournament at-large bid. In addition out in the East Coast, Penn State will look to continue its 15-year domination of the conference tournament as the EIVA Tournament begins tonight.

AVCA announces 2013 All-American Teams, Newcomer of the Year

After both being the nation’s top ranked teams for the majority of the season, BYU and UC Irvine have now picked up the most All-American honors.

The Cougars and Anteaters were the only teams to have multiple players selected to the first of two All-American teams, which the AVCA released Thursday morning.

Conference tournament men’s volleyball matches to follow tonight

The men’s volleyball conference tournament brackets are all set — now let the April Madness ensue.

The conference tournament quarterfinals matches begin this weekend in the MIVA and MPSF as teams battle to make the four-team NCAA Tournament field. UCLA and Pepperdine highlight tonight’s matches with both teams looking to end postseason droughts, while out in the Midwest, Ball State and IPFW renew an in-state rivalry but this time in the conference tournament.

MPSF announces Player of the Year, all-conference teams

BYU after getting the most conference wins in program history and its first MPSF regular season tittle in almost 10 years has now picked up the top individual conference awards.

The conference announced Thursday that BYU All-American outside attacker Taylor Sander is the 2013 MPSF Player of the Year, while the Cougars outside attacker Ben Patch won the 2013 MPSF Freshman of the Year award.

Finalists announced for Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Blocker of the Year

A nationwide voting committee selected UC Santa Barbara middle attacker Dylan Davis, Long Beach State middle attacker Taylor Gregory and Ball State middle attacker Matt Leske as finalists for the 2013 Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Blocker of the Year.

The Off the Block/Springbak, Inc. National Blocker of the Year is annually awarded to the NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball player with the best front-row defensive performance during the regular season.
