Unbelievable (due to the team,… not the voting) that USC is not even in the top 15 at the end of this year. But with their performance this past year, that certainly does explain it. With their success last year (2012) and being runner-up champs to the end of this humiliating season, it is quite a concern towards the Trojans and Coach Ferguson.

You have to wonder… will current USC Trojan sophomore, Micah Christenson, transfer to a new team for his last two years (if he chooses to stay in college vb or go pro instead) in order to have the opportunity to play WITH other talented players… not AGAINST..??

HA! Robonthemic posted this poll on VT, and I just knew it was you that voted for Pfeiffer. And fair play, because only the top line really matters.

You’ve got a good camera presence Vinnie. Maybe a little raw, but you’re at ease and you know what you’re talking about. (On my best day, I could only manage one of those) I’ve enjoyed these little videos you started putting out over the last few weeks of the season.

I remember seeing someone suggest that the Big West Conference should sponsor men’s volleyball. It’s a sensible idea that would alleviate the scheduling concerns and pave the way for tournament expansion, but the problem is they’d have to add at least one associate member. There are five Big West teams in the MPSF — CSUN, Hawaii, LBSU, UCI, and UCSB. You need at least six to be in consideration for an NCAA tournament auto-bid. But who would they add? The rest of the conference is 3 members of the Pac-12 — Stanford, USC, and UCLA — and 3 members of the West Coast Conference — BYU, Pepperdine, and soon-to-be Big West defectors Pacific. And two Division II teams. None seem like likely choices as associate members. If Cal Poly, Fullerton, Riverside, or Davis added MVB, it could all fall into place. Honestly I sorta wonder why they don’t. I’m sure there are Big West rivalries that could easily transfer over.

The Eaters are such a great team because they are so balanced. They do not have a star player. Every rotation is strong, the set can go anywhere, opponents can’t predict the starters, and the bench is always just as strong as the floor. Zot!
