ROMEOVILLE — It kind of felt unfair.

Loyola outside hitter Collin Mahan crushed the pipe at Lewis libero Michael Simmons. Julian Moses jabbed at it to keep it alive and seconds later Mahan got a second stab. Ryan Coenen and Simmons both dove on the floor to keep the play going. Lewis got a solid dig, and Matt Yoshimoto dished out a perfect set to Moses who lit it up cross court. Finalists announced for Off the Block National Player of Month

Off the Block selected the finalists, and now it is up to the fans to determine who should be the college men’s volleyball National Player of the Month.

The Off the Block National Player of the Month recognizes the best individual performances from NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball players during the month and gives volleyball fans from around the world the chance to determine who was the best player. Audio: Purdue Fort Wayne coach elated to sweep Ball State in rivalry match

Coach Rock Perrotte now holds an accomplishment that not even his Hall of Fame predecessor Arnie Ball was able to achieve.

No. 15 Purdue Fort Wayne swept its in-state rival No. 13 Ball State 31-29, 25-22, 25-18 on Tuesday to complete the season series sweep and for the first time in program history win every regular-season set against the Cardinals.
