After recording their first-ever win over a nationally-ranked team last Saturday night in Northridge, the Daemen Wildcats jumped to No. 5 in this week’s Division II coaches poll released on Wednesday morning.

The Wildcats defeated then-No. 12 CSUN in five games behind 26 kills on a. 488 attack percentage from senior outside attacker Zach Schneider.

Other than McKendree and Daemen swapping spots in the poll, the top ten remained the same from last week’s poll.

Charleston maintained their grip on the the top spot, garnering all 11 first place votes.

ConfCarolinas led all conferences with three teams ranked in this week’s poll.

This week’s Division II match of the week is on Saturday afternoon when No. 9 Limestone hosts No. 3 Lincoln Memorial on Senior Day.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
