Despite receiving seven of the eleven first place votes in this week’s Division II coaches poll, Concordia-Irvine falls to No. 2 in the poll released on Wednesday morning.

The Eagles swapped spots with No. 1 Lewis who earned three of the other four first place votes. McKendree received the remaining first place vote.

Concordia-Irvine has lost five of their last six matches while Lewis and McKendree split their season series this past weekend.

North Greenville re-enters the poll at No. 10, having won nine of their previous ten matches before last night’s loss at Belmont Abbey.

19 teams received at least one vote in this week’s poll.

The Division II match of the week is when No. 6 Mount Olive hosts North Greenville on Saturday afternoon in a battle of the top two teams in the ConfCarolinas standings.

Both NCAA Division I and NCAA Division II men’s volleyball programs compete for the same national championship. The AVCA National Coaches Poll ranks the top 15 Division I-II men’s volleyball teams and is released each Monday during the regular season.

A national voting committee comprised of coaches from the more than 25 Division II teams determines the weekly rankings for the Division II National Coaches Poll.

The Division II National Coaches Poll will be released on the Off the Block website every Wednesday during the regular season.
