No. 3/2 Long Beach State improved to 13-3 on the season after defeating No. 6/7 (22-25, 25-19, 25-16, 25-19) on Friday night at the Walter Pyramid. The Beach were led by freshman outside attacker Alex Nikolov who had 23 kills on a .450 attack percentage. Junior middle attacker Shane Holdaway had six blocks in leading Long Beach State to a 12-3 block advantage.
