What to know: The wait to reach the NCAA Tournament for the first time will come to an end for either Mount Olive or Belmont Abbey. The Trojans and Crusaders will meet in the ConfCarolinas Tournament finals with both teams vying to win their first conference championship since the ConfCarolinas earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Mount Olive outside attacker Tobi Azeez entered the postseason leading the nation with a 4.51 kills per game average and had a combined 27 kills in two regular season wins versus Belmont Abbey. The ConfCarolinas Offensive Player of the Year also had 21 kills in a semifinals victory against King on Saturday and now has more than 20 kills in three consecutive matches. Along with Azeez, middle attacker Luke Visgitis is in the nation’s top five with a career-best .473 attack percentage. Among Visgitis’ top performances of the regular season featured seven kills and zero errors while hitting .636 in a sweep against Belmont Abbey in February. Belmont Abbey has two players in the nation’s top 25 for kills. Outside attacker Matteo Miselli leads the Crusaders with a 3.87 kills per game average. Miselli, who transferred from Tusculum to Belmont Abbey in the offseason, had match-high 20 kills in the team’s semifinals victory against North Greenville on Saturday. In addition, opposite Andrew Kohut is averaging 3.73 kills per game and had a team-high 25 kills in the last meeting against Mount Olive.
