A Freshman All-American is on the move.
Belmont Abbey announced on social media during the weekend that outside attacker Matteo Miselli has transferred from Tusculum to join the Crusaders for the upcoming season.
Miselli finished last season in the nation’s top 15 with a 3.92 kills per game average and had double-digit kills in 10 matches. Among his top performances during Tusculum’s inaugural included a match-high 25 kills along with three aces in a five-game road victory against Urbana.
The Italian native also was second among all players on NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball independent teams and 12th in the country averaging 0.51 aces per game.
Along with being a Freshman All-American, Miselli was named to both the Independent Teams Freshman of the Year and the All-Independent Team.
Miselli was one of three new players the Crusaders unveiled on the team’s Instagram account during the weekend. Setter Clayton Zimmerman and outside attacker Justin Kean will also join Belmont Abbey for the 2021 season.
Belmont Abbey was in fifth place in the ConfCarolinas at the time the 2020 season was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
