It’s now official — BYU versus Hawai’i will be a showdown between the top-two teams in the nation.

The teams two days before the start of their non-conference series finished atop the latest Off the Block National Media Poll that was released Tuesday.

BYU for the third consecutive week edged out Hawai’i for No. 1 in the media poll. Either the Rainbow Warriors or the Cougars have been ranked No. 1 in the poll every week so far this season.

The National Media Poll is the only rankings in NCAA Division I-II men’s volleyball solely determined by media members. The 10 teams receiving the most votes are ranked in the National Media Poll, while other schools earning votes but finishing outside of the top 10 are considered teams receiving votes.

A new national media poll is released every Tuesday during the regular season on Off the Block’s website.

  1. when was last time there was a top 10 that did not include at least one of these 3 perennial powerhouses, SC, UCLA or Pepp???? I’d venture to say it’s been quite awhile? GO BEACH!!!
