Matches featuring MPSF teams have come to an end for the upcoming future.

The conference announced Thursday that it is indefinitely suspending conference and non-conference matches for spring sports teams, including men’s volleyball, because of the cornavirus outbreak.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention reported Thursday that there are 1,215 confirmed cases of the coronavirus throughout the United States and 36 deaths because of the virus. That number has continued to increase in recent days.

This decision to suspend athletics activities comes on the same day that the NCAA canceled the 2020 men’s volleyball NCAA Tournament and all other spring sports championships.

BYU at the time of the season being canceled was undefeated, in first place in the MPSF and No. 1 in both the national coaches poll and media poll. The MPSF also had two more teams in the top 10 of the national rankings.
